What Are the Best Math Books for Trading?

Looking for a math book for trading? Something to help you calculate more quickly in your head? You're in the right place.

I've read part of each of these books. I've been blessed with fast mental math skills since I was a kid. But I still picked up some great new tricks.

Everyone learns a little differently, so it's hard to say which will be best for you. But, number one was best for me. The good thing is, they're both very cheap or even free on Kindle Unlimited.

Both have solid reviews and the ability to help you learn. Which one works for you may be up to your personal style. Hint: Take a look at the "Look Inside" feature above the product image on Amazon. You can preview the book.

For these books, I may receive compensation from Amazon through their Amazon associates' program. I'm a trader and mentor first. I write from my experience and only give high marks where they're due.

Do I Need Math for Trading?

Yes, you need some math for trading at the highest potential. But don't worry! You don't need to be a master of calculus to trade.

The math you need for trading is mental math. You'll be best off if you can calculate quickly in your head. You don't need to mess with complicated math, just quick arithmetic.

Being able to confidently add, subtract, multiply, and divide in your head will help you do several things:

  1. Place orders, stops, take-profit order more accurately.
  2. Reduce mental fatigue.
  3. Capitalize on fast market moves.
  4. Manage R/R easily.
